Adventure #1: Devonian Botanic Gardens
This would be better described through pictures, which I will add below. Basically the trip was organized by the Visiting Students Program in my University and the garden is actually located outside of the city so took half an hour plus to reach. Once we were there we basically had three hours to walk around ourselves and that seemed like a long time, but the garden was huge! And also very beautiful. We went in the evening so it was the perfect time to capture the reflections in the water.
As I mentioned, the garden was huge and we had a map but there was no border at all of where the garden ended so when my friend and I followed the trail into the more dense forest places we ended up walking straight ahead onto what was presumably someone-else's property.
We had a feeling that someone might come out and shoot us, but still we decided to peak inside. It looked pretty dusty and abandoned but was still pretty furnished and had books on the bookshelf. Then when we glanced further in there was a light on at the dining table; needless to say we quickly shimmied out of there.
Adventure #2: White Rose Carnival
Went there with quite a bunch of friends but once we were actually there three guys decided not to get on any of them because it looked pretty mediocre...and for kids. But still four of us decided to get on one or two rides, and ended up getting on two others for free! The people working the rides were really nice and friendly especially the one guy who let us on two rides for free.
The last ride we went on was mania, I was not expecting it to be so crazy. It's called the zipper and is basically like a Ferris wheel but narrower, and the little 'cages' you sit in is loose and turns around. But the thing is, the middle part of the Ferris wheel also turns and so you end up going a full circle in mid-air. It was totally unexpected and so much fun! After that ride however we were all pretty dizzy and felt like throwing up, we were dizzy even after the first ride but that was the last one, we were pooped.
Adventure #3: Friends went skydiving
On the same day as the carnival rides and right after getting back, my friend and I rushed to meet our other friend who came to pick us up. Two of them were going skydiving and I was just in on the ride to watch them fall 13 thousand feet from the sky. I felt pretty nervous for them for a bit when we arrived and saw people floating down, but after that the nerves was all them. I mean I would be feeling frightened too especially up in the air. However I did not get to sit in the airplane with them, I was on the ground awaiting their descent.
It seems very fun, but also very expensive. I mean I would be all up for it if was much cheaper! Normal price is around $300, and they got $100 off but with pictures and video (go pro held by instructor) it added $75. Too expensive, they're earning a lot this business. Can't wait to see their videos though!
